Hungarian Robotics Association Code of Ethics

Our Core Values

The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to establish the fundamental values and behavioral norms that guide the activities of Association members. Every member commits to upholding these ten points, thereby ensuring that the Association remains a credible, professional, and ethical environment that sets an example in the domestic robotics profession.

1. Legality and Regulatory Compliance

Association members fully comply with applicable laws, standards, and regulatory requirements in the field of robotics. Under no circumstances do we support illegal or unethical procedures.

2. Integrity and Honesty

Honesty, fairness, and reliability are mandatory for all members. We carry out all our activities to the best of our knowledge, in good faith, and never sacrifice ethical principles for short-term gains.

We avoid conflicts of interest: we only make decisions and participate in transactions where our personal or business interests do not conflict with the Association’s goals and values. We do not tolerate corruption, fraud, or deception in any form, and we firmly condemn such behavior.

3. Transparency and Accountability

We operate openly and transparently in our activities. We provide accurate and truthful information, whether it’s financial data, project results, or public information. We take responsibility for our decisions and actions: if we make mistakes, we openly acknowledge and correct them.

Transparency builds trust, so we pay particular attention to ensuring that the Association’s operations and members’ activities are transparent and traceable for both members and external partners.

4. Professional Responsibility and Excellence

Our members perform their work with professional competence and quality. We strive to achieve the highest possible quality in all our projects. We are responsible for the safety and reliability of our activities.

We continuously educate ourselves and share professional knowledge with each other to keep pace with rapid developments – thereby ensuring that the Association’s name becomes synonymous with excellence.

5. Responsible Innovation and Safety

In innovation, we prioritize the safety of users, society, and the environment. We follow ethical principles in our operations, respecting human rights and dignity.

We do not support, develop, or apply any robotic solution that would violate society’s fundamental values or endanger users. Our goal is for robotics development to serve the common good and contribute to improving quality of life.

6. Collaboration and Teamwork

Association members work together with open dialogue, striving for common success. We actively contribute to the community’s projects and respond constructively to criticism and suggestions.

We value knowledge sharing and learning from each other: we view other members not as competitors but as partners in the common goal – promoting robotics in Hungary. We seek collaboration opportunities and support each other’s initiatives, knowing that significant results can be achieved through joint efforts.

7. Respect and Inclusion

We are committed to respecting human dignity and maintaining an inclusive attitude. Both within and outside the Association, we treat everyone with respect – our fellow members, partners, competitors, and the public. Harassment or offensive communication is prohibited.

We provide equal opportunities for all members to participate and contribute – we believe that diversity is a resource that brings creativity and new perspectives to our collective work. We listen to all opinions, conduct debates in a cultured manner, and value constructive criticism.

8. Commitment to Community

Our members actively participate in the Association’s life and common affairs. We commit to contributing to the success of events and programs to the best of our abilities, and to supporting the Association’s work.

We consider supporting smaller players important: we help young enterprises, school teams, and newcomers in the field of robotics by sharing our knowledge and networks with them. To maintain the community spirit, all our members feel responsible for both the Association’s successes and failures – we celebrate together, and when problems arise, we seek solutions together.

9. Ethical Business Conduct

Corporate members and professionals participating in the Association conduct their business activities according to the highest ethical standards. This includes adhering to fair competition principles (no cartels, no abuse of dominant position), fulfilling promises and contractual obligations, and financial responsibility (accurate accounting, transparent finances).

In cases of conflict of interest (when personal interest would conflict with community interest), members openly disclose and manage it. In our business decisions, not only profit but also long-term sustainability and social impact are considerations – thereby setting an example in Hungarian business life.

10. Protecting the Association’s Good Reputation

Every member is obliged to protect the good reputation and credibility of the Hungarian Robotics Association. With our statements and actions, we strive to present the Association in a positive light and refrain from any expression that could harm the community’s reputation.

In our public appearances and press statements, we represent the Association’s values. We ensure that even in our professional activities or business practices outside the Association, no unethical steps are taken that would negatively reflect on the community.

Our goal is for the Association’s name to always mean honor, credibility, and professional integrity, and we are all responsible for this.

By upholding these ethical principles, we jointly build the future of the Hungarian Robotics Association – a credible, reliable, and exemplary community in the world of domestic robotics.
