Workshop visit at the Hungarian Robot Builders Association

In preparation for our Open Duck Mini robot-building project, we visited the workshop of the Hungarian Robot Builders Association (HURBA), where Áron Tanos, the association’s leader, welcomed us.

The visit

Áron presented the association’s workshop and several previous robot projects, including a laser-cut hexapod spider robot, a wooden bipedal robot equipped with an ultrasonic sensor, and a 3D-printed humanoid robot arm – each an outstanding example of domestic community robot building.

Why is this important?

HURBA has decades of experience in hobby robot building in Hungary. The collaboration creates an opportunity to draw on the knowledge and infrastructure of the domestic robot-building community during the construction of our Open Duck Mini project.

We are looking for sponsors and interested parties

The Open Duck Mini project is actively seeking sponsors and builder volunteers. Supporters’ names will be displayed on the project website and applied as stickers on the robot body – making them visible at every event, in every video and in all press materials.
